Project Background
The project consisted of major alterations and a substantial new build extension to enhance the learning environment for pupils, giving them access state-of-the-art facilities across the school, from specialist classrooms to outdoor play equipment. Original, permanent school buildings were retained but were subject to major alteration and refurbishment.
Vitruvius achieved great value for money, they understood our business to such an extent that we were able to have only minimum disruption during the project

Our role in the project
Vitruvius was appointed as Employers Agent, undertaking contract administration and cost consultancy duties from SCALA Stage B to L on this major frameworks contract.
As Project Management and Construction Management professionals, Vitruvius was able to provide pre-construction and buildability advice ensuring the construction phasing was at the centre of the design solution.
Work had to be carried out in phases to ensure the school remained functional during the extensive build period.
The completed project won Local Authority Building Control Building Excellence Awards and Best Educational Building in 2014.
